Hey there...

I created this website as an exercise of working through my own desire to pray more with scripture. I'm used to the idea and practice of praying services of the Daily Office, and I've tried several variations over the years. As an Episcopalian I'm very aware of the strengths of our prayer services available in the Book of Common Prayer, and I do use them and love them when I'm in a Morning Prayer or Compline service with friends. I also have a deep appreciation for the Daily Office of the Northumbria Community and I've used it many times over the years. Please believe me that I haven't made this site because I thought I could do anything better than anyone else, but instead because I wanted to have and to offer something a little unique. I wanted to have for myself and anyone else who would like to join me, a short and simple daily office that is rooted in our scriptures in direct and meaningful ways.

This site was born during the Lenten Season of 2025, and I hope it grows to be used by many people seeking a new or renewed practice of daily prayer, and I hope it grows in contributors and partner voices who can add to the project. For now, I offer these three simple services of Morning, Midday and Evening, for your use and mine. I'll also add some blog posts on prayer, reflections on some of things I've discovered and experienced in my own prayer life over the years. Please feel very welcome to reach out and share your thoughts and reactions to these prayers, practices and poems. Let's travel the road together for a while, friend.

Ad Majorem De Gloriam, Rev. Todd

scripture prayers - a daily office.png

This site has been created to help someone begin and continue in an intention of daily prayer with scripture. It is the hope of all who work hard to maintain the site that you would be blessed in its use and would share it with anyone else it could help.

All scripture readings are from the New Living Translation unless otherwise noted.
